From My Social Media is a series of works all on ink on paper or acid free Foamex. Fernandez background as a journalist informs her practice, as she strives to bring attention to the sociopolitical aspects inherent in the found imagery she incorporates into her work, as she reflects how people define the world through the permanently fast  evolving media, the importance and influence of self-publishing as to what has become more visible. These works are based on found imagery from appropriated social media posts.  This archive of found images started during the pandemic. the first drawings appeared as small warm-up ink drawings. These small works, each measuring 13 x 13 cm belong now to an ongoing drawing project, My Social Media Feed on Ink: the first 100 drawings were shown at Cartography of Care at Spilt Milk Gallery, Edinburg in 2022. The larger ink drawings, also based on social media imagery from Fernandez's feed, have a more painterly approach. Set on calico, they hang from curtain poles.
